Guru Marpa Statues

Guru Marpa translated the teachings from Sanskrit into the Tibetan language and established the Kagyu lineage. Additionally, Guru Marpa frequently traveled to India to receive the teachings of the Indian masters. To fund his travels he had converted his inheritance into gold to support this grand ambition. Our Guru Marpa statues were hand crafted using the lost wax sculpting method. As a result, they depict the guru in his natural form in fine detail. The guru was frequently frowning and he is known to have disheveled hair. Additionally, he is always depicted sitting on animal skin in the style of the Indian masters.
