Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Statues

Long ago, Ksitigarbha vowed to forgo fully enlightened status until all of the Buddhist Hell realms were emptied. Furthermore, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva statues portray his traditional role as the protector of expectant mothers, travelers, firemen, pilgrims and all beings migrating through the realms of samsara. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is one of the four great Bodhisattvas who is highly venerated in East Asia and worldwide. Our Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva statues were handmade in Patan, Nepal using the traditional lost wax sculpting method. As a result, each statue is imbued with the unique characteristics of an original handmade sculpture. Ksitigarbha is depicted holding the pearl which contains special powers to relieve the suffering of his followers.
