Our Nepali master artisan created our beautiful Green Tara statue with the jewelry and crown of a Bodhisattva. At the request of the buyer, we would be happy to adorn the crown and jewels of this Green Tara statue with turquoise and red stones. At no extra charge, the skilled artisan can embellish the statue with special decoration before delivery.

The color turquoise is a special combination of blue and green. Indeed, blue signifies the purity of the Buddhas and green symbolizes her readiness to act. She wears it well and will inspire all those who lay their eyes on her statue.

Features of a Green Tara Statue

Green Tara sits in open posture with one leg partially extended. This is an important aspect of the statue and symbolizes her readiness to rise to the assistance of her devotees. Additional, symbols include the two lotus flowers that are growing over her shoulders.

The unopened lotus flower over her left shoulder represents what awaits devotees who diligently practice the Dharma. If so, the fruits of Nirvana will blossom before them. Additionally, the blossoming lotus over her right shoulder shows devotees the rewards of perfect practice and the subjugation of mundane desire.

The right hand of Green Tara is open faced and depicts the Varada “gift giving” mudra. Also, her left hand is open faced in front of her chest which symbolizes her unwavering dedication to her devotees. Additionally, her left hand depicts the Abhaya “protection and fearlessness” mudra. As such devotees are encouraged to try new things and overcome all obstructions to their spiritual realization. Click here to read more about the symbolism of our Green Tara statue.
