Nepali White Tara Sculpture Features

The two lotus flowers blossoming over the shoulders of White Tara add ascetic elegance to our Nepali White Tara sculpture. However, the lotus flowers are not only meant as beautiful adornments. The lotus flower is very significant in Buddhism because it represents the awards of Nirvana that await devotees who are true to their Dharma practice.

Additionally, our White Tara is fully adorned in the elegance of the Bodhisattva crown and jewels. Additionally, she displays the 3 neck lines, the ushnisha topknot and she sits in full lotus pose on the single lotus pedestal.

However, White Tara’s identifying characteristic is her 7 eyes. Indeed, White Tara is also called “7 Eyed” due to their special meaning. Each of her seven eyes are placed to ensure that all of her thoughts and actions will be governed by insight wisdom and virtue. White Tara is also strongly affiliated with long life, healing, serenity and compassion. Click here to learn more about the Tara Bodhisattva.
